Hi, Mark,
Sorry for your trouble. I have not heard of such an extreme failure
mode. I'd like your help in getting more information. To do this,
we need to see the Java console.
In the "bin" folder of Java 1.5.0_06, you will find "javaws.exe".
This is the actual executable that runs vZome, when you click on the
JNLP link or launch the downloaded JNLP file. Launch javaws.exe. In
the "Edit" menu, select "Preferences...". This displays the "Java
Control Panel" dialog. Select the "Advanced" tab in the upper
right. Under the "Java console" settings, select "Show console".
Now launch vZome again, and repeat your actions. You'll see the Java
console window appear early on. If vZome fails again (as it ought
to), you should see a "stack trace" in the console window, detailing
the exception that occurred. Please copy and paste the entire
console contents, and send to me.
Note: I will be on a plane later today from 3PM-8PM PDT. I'd be
happy to talk with you if you want to call any other time, 919 593 2349.
Regards,
Scott
